
Samsung on Thursday pushed past a milestone by readying its 30 nanometer DDR3 RAM for off-the-shelf PCs. The 2GB and 4GB sticks will keep power consumption low, about 66 percent less than a 60nm chip, but still hit a 1.6Mbps peak bandwidth. They're considered an option not just to expand RAM but to possibly draw out the battery life of a notebook using older memory....
